Scholarship Recipients

Vance Wingard: 2024 High School Scholarship Recipient & 2025 Alumni Scholarship Recipient

Vance, a 2024 graduate of Ennis High School, plans to attend Montana State University to pursue his degree in Agricultural Education and a minor in coaching. Vance hopes to teach in a rural school after completing his education, ideally teaching applied learning concepts. For the past 3 years, he has worked part-time as a horseback riding guide and hopes to own a similar agri-tourism business in the future. He plans to share the practical knowledge and experience from his background in agriculture and in managing his own operation with his students—whether it be growing plants, raising livestock, or paying bills and managing revenue. He hopes to relate, motivate, and inspire students in the classroom and athletics like his mentors did for him. Further, Vance has been beyond dedicated to community service, including the Ennis Junior Rodeo, Ennis Youth Baseball, Ennis Schools Friday Youth Program, as well as providing horseback riding lessons and therapy to those in need.

Kaleb Rice: 2024 High School Scholarship Recipient

Kaleb, a 2024 graduate of Ennis High School, plans to attend Montana State University to pursue his degree in Agricultural Business/Ranch Management. He also plans to obtain his Pilot’s License from Gallatin College. After completing his education, Kaleb plans to return to his family ranch. His secondary education will help him manage the grassland, farmland, and cattle, all while continuing to seek innovative and practical approaches to continue to increase the success of the ranch. Further, his pilot’s license will prove beneficial to the ranch, as well as provide another financial avenue to help support the ranch. He is passionate about agriculture and carrying on the traditions and values of his generational ranch. Kaleb has dedicated many hours to giving back to his community through umpiring youth baseball games and coaching kids at the Little Mustangs Football, Basketball, and Golf Camps.
